She has been renamed Brodholme. BATSFORD LEAVES NEW YOKK. A cablegram has bean received stating that tho A.' and A. Line's chartered steamer Batsford cleared New York on June 18 for New Zealand ports, Melbourne, and Sydney. The local office of the company had no information up to yesterday concerning the vessel's departure. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain W. Nicholas, of the Opawa, having recovered from his recent illness, has rejoined his ship. Captain W. Deiley, who ha 3 been in charge of the vessel, has come ashore. Messrs., G. Mr. Percy A. Johnson, son of the lato Captain P. Johnson, and late second officer of tho s.s. Sumatra, of the India and Persian S.N. Company, has been accepted for active service in King Edward's Horse, and is now undergoing training at Bishop Stortford, Essex.
Latest advices state that the P. and O. liner Benalla is expected to be delayed at Durban for at least a fortnight to havo necessary repairs effected. The damage was caused by fire whilst the vessel was outward-bound from London to Australia. The F. and S. chartered steamer La Blanca was to have left Wellington for Avonmouth, via Durban, at daybreak today.
