BOY'S INSTITUTE
At a well-attended meeting of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the Boys' Institute and S. A. Rhodes Home for. Boys, the following officers were appointed'for'the year:—Tile president, Sirs. W. Sefton Moorhouse; president, Mrs. J. Hislop; vice-presidents, Miss Bruce Christie and Mrs. J. Gibbons; secretary, Mrs. G. E. Brown, 12 Nairn Street; treasurer, Mr. G. Bell; committee, Mesdames Rose, Pearson, Moore, Troup, and ■ Misses Clark and Hill. '• The constitution drawn up by the sub-committee was adopted. : Arrangements wore made for the opening of the new building, -which will take place in about two months' time.
In drawing up the time-table , for the tapid swimming bath, special provision has been made for ladies, and at much•reducecl charges. It was mentioned that the bath was about completed, and presents a very fine appearance, being.tiledthroughout, and that any lady wishing to use it can now obtain admission. It is proposed to form in connection with the Ladies'- Auxiliary a Ladies' Swimming Club. It has been decided to hand over the control of 1 the hoarding arrangements of the institute to the Ladies' Auxiliary. Those present at the meeting;decided to undertake to collect sufficient to furnish all the bedrooms of the new building, and collecting cards for this, purpose were distributed. Mr. P. Ross, the new director of the institute,- ivas introduced to the ladies present by the president.
