PATRIOTIC FUNDS
ST. JOHN AMBULANCE MAY, SHARE. • "Any -branch may, if it thinks proper so to do,' provide by its rules that it may make contributions out of its fund not exceeding in the whole 25 per cent, thereof to any-branch of St. John Ambulance Association in New Zealand,'or to any guilds or committees whose members are working for the benefit of any hospital or for tbe making of equipment for any hospital which may be established for-New Zealand soldiers and sailors, upon being satisfied that such contributions will bo exclusively devoted to tho comfort or treatment of New Zealand soldiers and sailors who have been or shall be wounded or incapacitated in the course of the war." The above was a rule for the'guidance of branches of the National Fund schomo tentatively approved by- Wednesdav's conference.
On tho rule being brought before the conference Mr. H. G. Hill (Wellington. Patriotic Spciety) explained that it had been inserted fit their request, as they were pledged to devote 25 per cent, of their money to the St. John Ambulance Association on their being- able to show that the money was required for work needed to be done by that body (hiring the war.
