4 MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. MEETS. The Maiiagemont Committee of the Wellington ltngby Union met last night. There were present: Messrs. D. Weir (in the chair), W.-F. 'Hornig, G. Howe, ■A- E; Wilson, P. J. Ryan, A. Griffiths; W. Donovan, and G. Luoni. A request, was receivecl from the Wellington Club, which withdrew its junior and fourth class teams from the corn.petitions last Saturday, that these gpines be played and not to count as dead losses. The writers stated that the. Wellington. Club had contributed 110 men to the various. Expeditionary Forces,: and as a. consequence it was sometimes difficult to get a f.ull team. The-request was agreed to. ■ A member of the Oriental fifth class team was suspended for one playing. and is to be severely cautioned, for using bad language to a referee. It .was decided, to accede to the request of the Nowtown and Brooklyn Schools for footballs.The Berhampore Club made a request that its match against Petone be .played in i The request was_ granted. It was decided that the principal game of the -first Saturday of the second round be Athletic v. Poneke. The representative matches, Wellington v. Auckland, were fixed for August 14, at Auckland, and August 28 at Wellington. ; !. A request was received from the Sixth Reinforcements for. a. game, with a Rugby senior team, and it was decided to endeavour to arrange a requested with the Petone Club on August 7. •
