HOMING PIGEON SOCIETY
The nineteenth'annual report of the Wellington Homing Pigeon Society remarks on the steady progress of the socity. Tho Maritime champion trophj was won by A. Clark, with 41 points, who also secured a "log in" for the Produce Trophy Fund trophy, witlf 35 points. A. Clark won the 1908 Trophy Fundi (£5 55.) trophy, with 41 points; 1913-1915 Produce Trophy Fund trophy (£3), with SI points; and tlie 1913-1915 Old Bird's trophy (£2), with 70 points. P. W. Lamb (28 points) was runner-up for the Maritime championship; J. Bolton (27 points), third. P. W- Lamb won tbe_ Newman Cup outright with 12 points (this cup was presented by Mr. 0. Newmail for most points in young bird' raceß). The birds in the race from Waiouru were carried over and tho race was declared off. In the young birds' race from Te Kaiti no bird's homed within the time limit. After the racing season the club inaugurated a system of shows, which were a great success, the entries being excellent. The thanks of the society are extended to Messrs. Ronayne, 1.5.0., and Dawson, Tjie Dominion Newspaper Company, Messrs. Jones and Co., Burke, Dunmore, W. Clark, Goer, E. M'lntyre, Preston, Wakeliri,.; Logie, Farrel, and members of the society for donating trophies; also to the Press, and to tlioso who kindly acted as liberators and advisers. One of tho society's membotrs, Mr. Ken. Hare, is now with the New Zealanders at the Dardanelles.
