THE NATIONAL CABINET

SITUATION UNCHANGED.

The situation regarding the forma-' tion of a National Cabinet is unchanged. The Prime Minister stated yesterday that lie had nothing whatever to say on the subject, and that liis first public statement upon it would probably, be made in the House. He was unaMa to say, however, whether or not that statement could be made soon. The Budget was being delayed until tlio conclusion of the negotiations, but'Tio said that it had not been necessary to hold back any considerable body of lecislatiou on account of the proposed union. In actual fact very, rapid progross had already been made with legislative business this Reason, • much mors rapid progress than he could remember having been made in any previous session. . . _ ~, An Opposition Caucus is to be held to-morrow, at which, presumably, tho National' Cabinet proposals will bo again discussed. •

It has sometimes been said, with much truth, that the business test is th 9 best test of any motor. War is the grimmest business of mankind, and the military motor-cyclist 6takes his life, very often, upon the. reliability of his mount. Here is what Sergeant It. E. Schofield, R.E., senior instructor of the Motor-cycle Section at Aldershot, has to say:—"Nearly every dispatch rider that has gone to th® front has passed through my hands, and I am therefore in a position to judge how the different makes of machine are in favour. The B.S.A. is by far away the favourite, and it has yet to happen that a B.S.A. has failed to act up to its well-earned repute. ... I may state that 50 per cent, of the machines" here aro B.S.A.'s." A .motor-cyclist with tile Second Cavalry Division, British Expeditionary Force, urites in a privato letter: "The roads aro hellish. . ... My. B.S.A. is the goods. I never have to touch it. They are tlio bikes, my boy. They knock the : and any other mako you like to mention, into a cocked hat." There are plenty of other letters from the front, all to the 6aino effect. We are landing 20 of the latest model B.S.A.'s ex s.s, Marlborough this week, and can jive immediate delivery. They aro ideal machines for either eolo or side-car oervice, and their reliability is famous. Tho h.p. is 4}, and the three-speed countershaft gear is foolproof and wonderfully efficient.
