There were touohing scenes when the Benalla arrived at Durban, women weeping witti joy; and men hurrahing. Tho demonstration ended with cheers for the captain and officers. CARGO STILL' ON FERE. London, July 24. "When the Benalla's hatches in No. 2 hold were uncovered tho cargo was found to be still on fire. Dense smoke emerged. Men are now flooding the hold. FIRE NOW EXTINGUISHED. (Reo. July 25, 3.30 p.m.) London, July 24. Lloyd's agent at Durban reports tliat the firo on the Benalla has beeii extinguished, and the water is being pumped out of the steamer.
