llessrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held a'succcssful clearing sale on account of Mr. T. M. Kingdon, at his honiestead, near Levin, on Tliursday. An exceptionally good sale resulted, the hord making the satisfactory average of £1 153. ' Prices ranged as undcr:-Cows, close to calving, £8 lis. to £10 10s.; Septem-ber-October "calvers, £5 15s. to £7 55.; heifers. close to. profit, £7 ss. to £8; 18-montlis h-:-ifcrs. £4 7s. 6d. to £4 lis.; joarling Hdtas. £2 Bs. Exceptionally keen competition took place for pigs offered, and six sows .offered made fritti £4 12s. to ''6 Is. : Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having held their ,AYaikanae sale on' Tuesday, when they offered a small yarding of cattle. The weather being exceedingly wet and boisterous, prevented many advertised lines coming forward. Tho.salee eifeoted were--as under:—Forward oows, £4 7s. to £4 125.; sipringilig coire, £5 155., £8, £9; springing heifers, £4 2s. 6d. to 5.
| At their weekly Levin sale on Wednesday, Messrs. Dalgety and Co. report that although tho day was exceedingly wet, 6tock came -forward, practically fully up to, the advertised number. Competition, especially for hoggets, was exceptionally keen, and every line' offered sold under the hammer with animated-iximpetition.- Compared with last week's rates the price of .hoggets advanced fully. Is. per liead. Buyers wero present from the Wailicto, but were "unable to. secure aiiy. stock. The'-sales effected were as under Woolly ewe hoggets, 17s. 3d.;, good woolly wether, hoggets, 16s. 6d. to'l6s." lid.; medium mixed sex shorn noggets,- 135... to 14s. id.; low-cpndition:and inferior hoggets, Bs. 9d. to lis. 6d.; empty ewos, 6s. 7d.
