General Botha had a rousing reception; • in the City Hall, which, was crowded with delegates from all parts of the. country. . A sword was presented to General Bothaj inscribed, "Draw mo for God and thy King, and justice and truth." General Botha, in responding, said 'his men liad achieved a piece of work whicli would contribute in tho highest degree , to the development of South Africa, and produce a better understanding among the wbito races. He applauded the women for maintaining the farms while the menfolk were fighting.
