THE NATIONAL CABINET
STILL A,POSSIBILITY. • The negotiations' between the Leaders of the Government and the Opposition in Parliament concerning the proposal to form a. National Cabinet are still proceeding. It has been almost authoritatively stated that the proposal is definitely off, but so far as can now be learned this statenient is not 'justified by facts. Neither.is there any authority for saying that there is a probability of a. National Cabinet being formed. There is, however, still a possibility. AVhether that possibility is remote or not, neither of the two gentlemen who alono know all the facts will say. The fact seems to be that the ultimate result is on the knees of the gods. Perhaps the differences between the negotiators Oil behalf of the parties relate to conditions rather than to the general idea.
