HUTT ROAD CONTROL A special meeting of the Onslow Borough Council was held shortly after, mid-day yesterdayto consider the question of the constitution Of the Board of Control of the Hutt Road as proposed by the conference of delegates ofcontributing local-bodies held on July 16. The Mayor (Mr. C. C. Crump) presided, and there were also present; Councillors A. W. C. Palmer, C. Bowden, J. M. Dale, A. E. Budd, and J. 6. Smith. Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P., member for the district, was also present. • . i; In opening the meeting • Mr. Crump said t'hat at the recent meeting with th'e Mayor of Wellington (Mr. J. P. Luke) In respect to the Hutt Road, Onslow had been practically counted out entirely and not allowed any say in .the expenditure of their own money. "I am sorry to say,", added Mr. Crump, "that this was done on the casting vote of the Mayor." A discussion followed and eventually Councillor Budd moved and it was carried; '.'That the Onslow Borough Council protests against the proposal 1 that the board consist of fivo members and that tho council'will do all it possibly can to have seven members on .the board so that Onslow might liavo representation on it-."
