OTAGO V. SOUTHLAND(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) Invercargill, July 21. In a representative match ior the benefit of the Wounded Soldiors' Fund, Southland defeated Otago b.v 15 points (three converted tries) to inf. The attendance was a record, for matches between theso provinces, and an ideal day favoured the contest.
RUGBY "UNION MEETING. Mr. D. D. Weir presided at last night's meeting of the Executive of the Wellington Rugby Union, and thero were also present: Messrs. E. Little, A. E. Wilson, P. J. Ryan, H. Buck, W. F. Hornig, and A. Griffiths. lira New Zealand Rugby Union wrote advising that the sum ot £6 had been passed for payment to the Wellington Union on account of sdiool: footballs. It was ..decided to thank the New Zealand Union for the grant.
In regard to an inquiry by the Wairarapa Onion, it Was decided to_ write expressing regret that the Wellington Union could not send a junior _ representative team to Carterton this season to play the annual match against Wairarapa.- The question of tlie senior representative matcli between the two unions will be decided later.
It was decided that the match for No. 1 ground, Athletic Park, on Saturday, July 31, should be Sehvyn v. I'oneke.
