MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION. Mr. J. W. Macdonald presided at yesterday's sitting of tlio conference of delegates representing branches of the Public Service Association. Resolutions were passed dealing with the following questions:—Classification and method of payment of salaries of meat inspectors employed as abattoir managers; the creation of an "expert" division; classification of draughtsmen in the Public Works Department; opportunities for promotion of draughtsmen and computers in tlio Lands and Survey Department; that draughtsmen be allowed to go into the field to allow them to qualify for their profession; official correspondence; alteration of date of holding the Public Servico Senior Examination; that tho Public Service Senior Examination he accepted as equal to the Matriculation Examination for the Accountancy Examination; compulsory subjects of examination for professional and draughting cadets in the Lands Survey Department; that the draughtsman's examination be considered fiS part of tho Senior Examination'; transfer of General Division officers to the Clerical Division; recognition of the Matriculation Examination as equivalent to the Public Service Senior Examination;-increased salary to cadets 011 entering the Service; classification salary of orchard instructor and fruit inspector; retirement from the Service.
