From Sydney direct the Union Company's Moeralti arrived at Wellington at 12.30 p.m. yesterday, and berthed at the Jervois Quay WJiarf. Leaving Sydney at 4 p.m. on. Friday, tho vessel eipwienccd fair weather till nearinc the New Zealand coast, when much rain and wind with slight seas prevailed. The Moeraki will leave Wellington for Lyttelton this afternoon, returning to this port in time to Gail for Sydney on Friday nest.

WEiLLINGTON-LYTTELTON SERVICE. The Pateena, wliioh has been running in conjunction with the Maori in the Wel-lington-Lyttelton ferry Eervice, -n-ill be withdrawn on Saturday morning, and will eail for Melbourne from Wellington the same day in order to relieve the Loongana. 'Die Jfonowai, which has been undergoing an extensive overhaul at Port Chalmers, is due at Wellington, on Saturday morning, and will sail for Lyttelton in place of the Patecßa on Saturday even-, inp. The Monomai will maintain: the ferry service with tho Maori till further notice. RTJAHINE'S MOVEMENTS. On Friday the Ruahine "will-leave Wellington for Lyttelton, wiherc discharge of Homo cargo will be completed. She will commence" loading at the southern port, subsequently visiting Bluff, Lyttelton, and Wellington. for the same purpose. Departure will be. taken from this port for London on August 12. • OPAWA'S ITINERARY. On account of yesterday's heavy rain it is anticipated that tho Opawa will not get away from • Wellington far south till Saturday. When she has landed all her Liverpool cargo the vessel will commencs loading for England on behalf' of her owners. She will visit Wanganui, Wellington, Napier, Gisboriie, and Auckland, and is scheduled to leave the lastrmentioned port for London, via the Cape of Good Hope route, on August 24.

SAILERS FROM NEW YORK. It is announced that the A. and A. Line las chartered a fleet of about a dozen sailers to bring general cargo from New York to Australian ports. On- inquiry at the local office of the company yeste?iay a reporter , wis informed that no word had been received concerning the vessels in question visiting Now Zealand ports.

Yesterday's wet weather was responsible for delaying several steamers at Wellington, and departures for various ports liad consequently to be' postponed till to-day.

The Government steamer Hiuemoa, was expected to leave Auckland for Hauraki Gulf and northern lighthouses to-day.

The Neiv Zealand Shipping Company's B.M.S. Rotorua, which as due at Wellington from London about August' 11, ' left Oape Town on July 19 for Hohart.'
