SOLDIERS' LEAVE
, EXTENDED WITHOUT NOTICE. Cases were referred to 111 the House of Representatives yesterday of members of the Reinforcements returning from leave to Trentham, only to ho told that they were not wanted then, and. could Teturn home. Mr. G. W. Russoll raised the matter first by asking tho. Minister of Dpfence whether he would give. instruction to Trentham Camp that men,on leavo and not required at, tho camp should bo telegraphed to informing them that their leavo had been extended. He referred to two Ohristchurch cases which occurred last wook, where tho men returned to camp on the expiry of their leave, an dapparcntly because the Department was not ready to receive them at the camp, they were told they could go back homo. Tho Minister of Dofence (the Hon. J. Allen) said, that he could not conceive that such could be the case, for ho knew of no such instances.
