MAORI PATRIOTIC ENTERTAINMENT.

A "Royal Maori Patriotic Entertainment," under the patronago of Their Excellencies Lord and Lady Liverpool and in aid of New Zealand's wounded soldiers, sailors, and their dependents, is lo take place at tlie Town Hall tonight and to-morrow (Thursday). The concert is being held, under the auspices of the Wellington Commercial Travellers' Association. ' On the programme, which promises to be of exceptional interest, are poi'dances, hato, Maori and English songs; and performances of. several native. pastimes as, presented by Maoris many year ago. A novel attraction, which undoubtedly will prove captivating, is a scene depicting Maori life in accordance with native custom of courtship. Seats may be reserved at Begg'a Music House, Manners Street. WELLINGTON HARMONIC 'SOCIETY'. A final reminder is given of the concert to be given this evening in the Town Hall (Concert Chamber) by the Welling, ton Harmonic-Society. A choice programme of part-songs, vocal and instrumental solos, and elocutionary items will bo presented, and those attending may look forward to" a very plensurablo evening. The choir of GO voices, under the baton of Mr. H. Temple White, will be heard in several charming unaccompanied part-songs, including Elgar's "Weary Wind of the AVest" and "0 Happy Eyes," Pinsuti's "In this Hour of . Softened Splendour," Dudley Buck's "Hymn to Music," and others equally good. Elgar s dainty "Fly, Singing Bird,' for ladies' chorus, two violins and piano, and Falling's stirring "Song of the Viking" will be tlie accompanied part-songs. The society will bo assisted by Miss C. Denhard, Miss Frieda -AYalter and Mossrs. C. Clarkson, W. W. Crawford, and Erie The tickets have sold well,' and a largo audience is anticipated.
