ALLIES'TRENCHES IN FLANDERS SHELLED f (By Ttlejraph—Press Assn.—Copyright) Paris, July 19. 54.' communique states: Th'e enemy violently bombarded the trenches at St.Georges, also the village and church at Boesiughe. ~ German attacks west and south-west of Souchez were repulsed. LARGE MOVEMENTS OF GERMAN TROOPS CONCEALED BY CLOSING OF SWISS'FRONTIER, (Rec. July 20, 3.30 p.m.) London, July 20. Thb "Daily Telegraph's" Milan, correspondent states that the closing of the Swiss frontier conceals largo movements of Germans. It is believed that the entiro Bavarian Army is being transported either to Flanders, the Vosges, or the Italian front. If it is proposed to throw three or four millions of Austro-Germans into the field with a view to occupying Italy from the Adriatic to the Gulf of Genoa, the Italians are strong enough to resist. They are excellently equipped with guns and ammunition, and have proved themselves equal to the best soldiers in Europe. " Italy does not expect a German attack, which is also unlikely against the well-defended fortresses of the Vosges. It is more likely that the Bavarians are going to Belgium or to the North of Franco. V GERMAN OFFICIAL COMMUNIQUE. (Rec. July 21, 0.55 a.m.) Amsterdam, July 20. A German official message states:—"Trench fighting on the heights southwest of Eparges proceeds with" alternating success. Our troops lost the local advantage which they; won on the 17th. There has been lively fighting near Souchez. The French attacks were repulsed."-
