LADIES'. TOURNAMENT. Again, notwithstanding a boisterous night, a, large , number s gatliiered at Messrs. Alcock and Co.?s showrooms to witness the ladies' billiard diner tournament. Four games were got ■ off: Mrs. Chant (owes 30) beat Mrs. Watkins (rec! 20) after quite a good game. Tho Winner has an unusual knowledge of tho game, and considerable executive abilci Her. opponent /was unfortunate in time and again missing shots by the barest of margins.
Mrs. Player (rec.-20) beat Mrs.' Girdlestone (owes 30) after a keen evenlycontested game.
, Miss Howe (rec. 30) beat Mrs. Goldie (rec.' 20) by the small margin of one point. . 1
Miss O. Stace (owes 20) just managed to win-from Mrs. Turner after, i hard uphill fight.
The best break of the evening was 21, compiled by Mrs.'Chant.
To-night the , following _ pairs will meet: Mrs. Porter and Miss E. Stevens. Mrs. Tucker and Mrs. Lockwood, Mrs. Girdlestone and Miss Howe, Mrs. Chant and Miss 0. Stace.
