The Mayoress, Mrs. J. P. Luke, wishes it to be understood that the Military Hospital Guild is supplying the various hospitals in which sick or wounded soldiers are stationed with everything that is needed in the way of clothing, bed equipmont, etc. Possibly there may bo a distinction more or less marked in the minds of some people as to what is needed and what would be liked, but after all, it is the former that is the chief consideration, and that the guild is supplying. . The Mayoress has visited all tlie hospitals for the purpose of seeing what may be required, and whatever wants it is necessary to supply the guild will do all it_ can in the matter. At Kaiwarra Hospital on Sunday the Mayor'and Mayoress, and Mr. and Mrs. Smith (the first-named being secretary of tho Patroitic Society) met with a rousing reception from the very cheerful-looking invalids, who all wished with one accord to express their gratitude to the guild and to the Patriotic Society and workers for all that had been done" for their welfare. The_ heartiest of cheers were'given the visitors before they left.

Miss Doris Walker, who is severing her connection with the Messrs. Stewart Dawson Co., Ltd., after a period of about seven years' service, was the recipient of & farewell gift from the staff last evening. The presentation consisted of a. handsome plain gold bracelet and! a silver purse.
