Tire utmost consideration and thoughtful kindness shown us by tho Defence Department, .Minister, general officers, and others is very much appreciated. May I also tender warm appreciation and thanks to the public of Wellington and the railway officials? Tho private soldiers (of whom my son is one) were as generously treated as the cfficers, and tho warm welcomo extended them .will bo long gratefully remembered.—l am, etc., HERBERT F.
