A private letter from Berlin states that the Kaiser's personal fortune has been greatly diminished He is interested in many of the industries which, havei now been ruined, and also in steamship companies which have lost very heavily; The Kaiser has already lost one hundred million marks (£4,000,000), while the Kings of Bavaria; Saxony, and Wurtemburg, and the Grand Duke of Badeit have also had heavy losses. Balfour (First Lord of the Admiralty), has completed arrangements to hold meetings throughout the Empire on August 4, the anni« versary of Britain's declaration of war.
