' [Several months ago, Thaw, the murderer of Stanford White, escaped from, the Home for Insane Criminals at Matteawan, and was arrested in Canada. Since then there has been much litigation as to the sanity or otherwise of Thaw. A few days ago a jury found that Thaw was sane, and the question of . his recommittal, to. the Matteawan 'Asylum was reserved for argument. The argument has resulted in Thaw's favour.]
