ASSOCIATION
ALL CAMES RESUMED. After several weeks' adjournment on account of the Queen Carnival, and also the weather, all games played under tho jurisdiction of the Wellington Football Association were resumed on Saturday afternoon. The outstanding feature of the day's play was the defeat of Corinthians by, Thistles by; a large margin.
During the first spell of the Wanderers and Y.M.C.A. B match on Saturday afternoon, Watson, right-back for Wanderers, had the misfortune to break his collarbono. H.o was conveyed to tho Hospital. .
THISTLE-CORINTHIANS. Thistle had a walk-over Corinthians on the Basin Reserve on Saturday When they defeated last season's, champions by six goals to nil. Corinthians were outclassed. Combination told its tale and towards the end of the game Corinthian's appeared to bo demoralised. At tho outset play was fast, but soon both teams settled doivn to steady, work.' Fifteen minutes of fairly even going ivas seen before Colin Reid sent out a beautiful pass to Walker on the wing. The latter beat Jardirie and scored. Thistle raced away at top speed and Walker, putting in a good centre to Edwards, the latter was able to score. There was ;io further,score at half-time.
During the opening stages of the second half Thistle made the game lively. They kept Corinthians. continually on the' defensive and compelled them to concede a corner. _ Walker took tho kick and Reid being handy headed through. . The same player initiated anothor Thistle rush. Claughton. secured and passing neatly back to Barnett tho latter scored the fourth goal for his sido. Tho fift'h came from a penalty kick taken by Reid. The gamo now became a procession of Thistlo rushes from one of which Walker scored tho sixth goal of. the match with a splendid shot; Soon after this time was called. Mr. A. E. Wells was referee.
WANDERERS—Y.M;C.A. B. After a fast, interesting game at Wakefield Park Wanderers managed to defeat Y.M.Q.A. B by 2 goals to I. During the first liiilf Wanderers had a big advantage by having the wind in their favour and the game had not been going very long before Smith scored tho first goal of the match. Even play was tho order for the remainder of the spell. On changing ends Y.M.O.A. tried hard to' score, but without result. Dospito tho galo which was blowing Wanderers managed to increaso their score to two goals through the agency of Trevethick. A few minutes before tho gamo ended Adair kicked a splendid goal for Y.M.O.A,
Mr. J. Wilson was referee. y.M.C.A. A-SWIFTS. Swifts, playing with 10 men, were beaten by six gools to nil by Y.M.C.A. on Wakefield Park on Saturday afterlioon, Y.M.C.A, set up r furious bombai'tlment of tliair opponents 1 yofil, but
larger than it was. Boforo half-time was called, however, Phillips managed to land tho ball in tlie net twice in succession. Tho second spell was a walk-over for Y.M.C.A. Roberts, Baker, Shaw, and Phillips each kicked a goal. Mr. T. Johnson was referee.
HOSPITAL-DIAMONDS. Hospital, after an interesting on their own ground at Porirua, defeated Diamonds by 4 goals to nil.
