Ha'rrv B. Burcher, who will stage "Tho Girl on tile Film" for J. 0. Williamson, Ltd., at Melbourne Her Majesty's, produced this musical comedy for Gcorgo Edwardes at the Gaiety Theatre, London, where he was stage manager for over eight years. Ho also produced the play in New York for Schubert Brothers. Mr. Burcher nearly produced , the "Yiddish" play, "Potash and Pcrlmutter," at the Queen's Theatre, London'. He was directing rehearsals when he was engaged by J. C. Williamson, Ltd., for Australia, and it was only as a compliment to the firm that Geo. Edwardes allowed him to leave. "My only regret at coming to Australia," said Mr. Burcher, "was that it meant giving up "Potash and Perlmutter.' I was terribly keen on it, and having seen the production and studied it'm New York, as well as investigated the 'types' in real life there, I was looking forward eagerly to staging it in London." Mr. George Willoughby commenced liis venture at the Little Theatre, Sydney, last Saturday evoning with a revival of that cheerful farce "The Wrong Mr. Wright," which he formerly played in association with the late Mr. Charles Arnold.- Miss Nellie Colvin (recently in New Zealand with the Plimmer-HaU Company)' is the leading lady... The Lynch Family of Bellringers are at present touring Queensland, and tho Steele-Payne combination are in Victoria. Bellringers appear to have the gift of perpetual existence. •
