MUNITION WORKERS FROM CANADA
1600 SENT AND MORE TO FOLLOW. Montreal, June 8. Considerable success is meeting. the British Commissioners ivlio arc now touring Canada in an effort to secure several thousand mechanics to go to England for employment iu making muuitions of war. The leading labour unions are giving their assistance iu order to secure employment for their members until business in Canada returns to normal conditions. Already 1600 mechanics have been sent, while another party will leavo .soon. .Expei't examiners liavo been called for so as to prevent any ''misfits" getting across, and tliey are expected to.arrive soon. A thousand good men have been scoured in Toronto alone, so that tho Commissioners are likely to secure more than tho 2000 meu'they originally hoped for.
