THE ANNUAL MEETING. The fifth animal meeting of the New x i Zealand Sheep-Owners". and . Farmers' federation was held on Wednesday at Wellington. The following delegates were . present Messrs. H. D. Acland,L. C.vGardineJV'.'and J.. Deans (Qanter- .. ibury),.; Roderick•.•M.'Kehirio (Otago and Southland), A. Ball (Marlborough), E. 'MosSj AV. J. Birch, Eivau Campbell, H. Morrison, I'. Patullo, J. Chambers, and 'Mitchc 11 (Hawbe's Bay and WellingtoiO, and F. H. Labatt (secretary). , _ , The'president (Mr. H. D. Acland), in moving tlie adoption of the annual re-port-.and balance-sheet," said, that tho shed hands' demands would come before the meeting for consideration. The ■employers could not agreo to the present demands; but ho hoped if a conference iv&s held with the representatives of tho .' New.; Zealand Shearers' Association that a' settlement would be arrived at. ,The: Canterbury Sheep-Owners' Union liad recently;received demands from the local 'Agricultural,, and Pastoral Workers' iTJnion in regard to musterers, packers, and shepherds; but these demands could . not be agreed to'by sheep-owners, and the matter would probably be referred to the Court. . During tho year several alleged. breaches of award, mostly, on account of wet sheep, had been reported. . to the executive.'
