KARORI BOROUGH COUNCIL
• FORTNIGHTLY MEETING. The fortnightly meeting of the Karori Borough Council was held last night. There were present: Tho Mayor (Mr.' B. G. H. Bum), and Councillors W. C. Cooper, L. B. Davies, T. AV. Lewer, R., F. Pell, and W. Skegg.
In reply to a complaint received from a resident regarding a car which was advertised to leave Karori at five rain-, utcs past one, and which left tlrree. minutes' before the .appointed time, a letter was received from the Tramways Traffic Manager stating that the mistake occurred, through the men in charge of the car misreading their orders. _The mon had been suitably dealt with.
On l ther ecommendation of the Tramways Committee it was decided to write a. ieter to the Tramway Management, requesting them to run the 7.22 p.m. car from Courtenay Place through to the Council Chambers every evening, instoad of Saturdays only.
In his fortnightly report the Borough ' Engineer (Mr. G. Brigham) said that the hockey grounds at_ the Park wore in fair condition. Building permits issued for the quarter ending Juno 30 numbered four, of a value of £2110, s tho fees from tho same boing £10 10s. 1
