Germany's successive colonial ..losses.' are considered to indicate the risk of acquiring colonial possessions nvithout following up a consistent policy of friendship for Britain. General Botha, in thanking Lord Kitchener for liis congratulations, said: "I hope that soon some' of my men shall take their share ill-the \ greater task in Europe."The King congratulated General Botha, and expressed, admiration of the conduct of the campaign, which is sliaN ed by His Majesty's subjects through out the Empire.
