Private F.i O'Connor, who has been awarded the Distinguished Conduct Medal," is the sixth son of' Mr. and Mrs. P. O'Connor, of Allenton, Ashburton. He is 23 years "of age, and was educated at the Ashburton Convent School. At one time he was employed at Messrs. Cooper and Duncan's foundry in Ashburton, and later, at the firm's foundry in Cluistchurch. Latfcrly he had been working at his trade in Masterton and Wellington. .
