During the operations for'the recovery of the Medusa, tho divers discovered another submarine, evidently an A-ush trian, nearby. [The Medusa* which- was sunk by ail enemy, submarine on June 1S ; was r<x puted to be the fastest submarine in the world. The two submarines were under water, and were ignorant of each other's nearness. Tho Medusa was the first td oomo to tho surface. The enemy sighted her/ through her: periscope/ and promptly torpedoed her.]
