PAHIATUA NOTES
'A' we'l-known settler .of the Pahiatua district, Mr:. G. Richmond,. who has purchased a 'property near Te Kuiti, , was entertained prior to leaving by his friends'at tho'Coinmercial Hotel,.Pahia-J tua, the "gathering being attended bythe loading farmers and prominent business people. Reference was made to tho assistance rendered by the. guest to tho Pahiatua A. and P. Association, and also to the success of his farming operations in this district, extending for a period of close on twenty years. The-'chairman, Mr. A. M'Farlane, pre-' sented Mr. Richmond with; a Gladstone bat* and also 'handed him a travelling rug for Mrs.. Richmond.
•Mr. L. Joyes, who is', leaving'' for Auckland shortly, " was entertained, last week-end, and was presented with a silver cigarette caso and pocket-wallet suitably inscribed. ' .
