WHARF - LABOURER, 'INJURED. . A wharf labourer named Lawrence Bowden was struck on tlie head hy a coal basket while working on tlie s.s. Koromiko oii Thursday afternoon. He was removed to the Hospital, where he was. found to be suffering from a slight concussion of the. spine. , ' CHILD FATALLY BURNED. •Advice was received at local, police headquarters 3'esterday that a fatal accident had occurred at Otaki on Wednesday, when a iwo-year-ojd child, the daughter of Mr. George Flutey, farmer, tvas severely burned through her clothes catching fire while she was playing near a log tire. Tlie little girl.died m the Otaki Hospital cn Thursday frflm the injuries received. An inquest is not considered necessary. KILLED WHILE TREE-FELLING. (Br TGleiranh—Press AGSociattyn.) 'Christchurch, July 9. Frank Hinton, aged forty-two, a married man, while tree-felling at Hornby yesterday, was knocked down by branches. He sustained internal injuries, and died while being brought to the hospital. " "
