The vessel heeled over rapidly. The crew showed admirable discipline, and cheered tho King and Italy as they were ordered to leave tho' ship. [The Amalfi was an armoured cruiser of 9956 tons, completed, in 1909. Sho carried four 10in., eight and sixteen'3in. guns, and had a speed of 23i knots.
