Mr. Meek, a Now; Zealand, who is: returning from a visit to Papua, said tho peoplo of New Guinea'favoured an alteration of .the constitution by. the creation of a Crown Colony consisting °f Papua and German Now Guinea. In the latter country things were very unsettled., . There was .'a noticeable absence of 1 speculation of any. kind," and a great scarcityof ready money. If the country remained British there ! would be-a great opportunity for tho investment of Australasian capital. f
