The Moa County Bill (Mr. Hinc) was introduced and read a first timo.
The 1 Hutt Road Bill and tho War Pensions Bill were, introduped by Governor's Messago and read a first timo'. THE MEDICALLY UNFIT. ' Mr. T; A. H.' FIELD (Nelson) gave nofcico- to ask for a return of the men on tie'strength in Trentham who jvere discharged since March 31 as;'medically unfit, and the dates of their discharges. ■Mr. Field added that he had been informed thsit 4>n July 1 25 men were discharged'is medically unfit; Education amendment. , Tlio Hon. J. ALLEN moved the second reading, of the Education, Amendment Bill, which he explained dealt only with a technical alteration in the law. SIR JOSEPH WARD (Awania) asked the Minister whether this was the only .Education. Bill to..come down this session. He also asked when the report of the: Education, Boundaries Commission would come down.
• Mr. J. A. HANAN (Invercargill) and Mr. B. M'CALLUM (Wairau) both informed tlie,Minister that defects had been discovered in the Education Act of last session, and /urged that an amending Bill, ought. to be brought down this session. ' . ■ ■ ..
The Hon.'J; ALLEN in reply said that he was not; sure .'whether another amending Bill would have to'be introduced} but this, Bill- was urgently neceasaiyi He said 'that;': the report on the Boundaries Commission was in the hands of the printer.' . The Bill was ! put through all stages and passed. ■ . , ■ BILLS PASSED. ■ The Local Authorities Empowering Bill was committed. The Attorney-General (the, Hon. A. L. Herdman); in reply to Mr./ Hanan, 6aid that it was not proposed to bring: down an amendment of the Municipal Corporations' Act ;this session; The Bill was reported without amendment; read a third time, and passed.. Tlio Arbitration* Amendment Bill Was put through/remaining stages and passed. V'. ■ The House rose at 4.45 p.m. till 2.30, p.m. this afternoon. '
