RIFLE AMMUNITION

Sir. C. ; A. Whitney, of Auckland, telegraphs to say that m recording the contract which the New Zealand Government recently entered into with the Colonial Ammunition Company, Ltd., some of the newspapers have altogether omitted reference to Clause No. 22, which stipulates that the company must maintain plant and machinery sufficient to manufacture double the minimum annual supply. This means, it is explained by Mr. "Whitney, that tho Colonial Ammunition Company has to provide for a maximum output, if required, of over twonty million.rounds of, ,'303 ammunition per annum.
