THE B.S.A.—FAVOURITE WITH MILITARY DISPATCH EIDEBS—AND WHY. , , . t ' . It bas sometimes been said, with, much truth, that the business test is the best test of any motor. War is the grimmest business of mankind, and tho military motor-cyclist etakes his life, very often, unon the reliability of his mount. Here is what Sergeant K. E.. Schofield, R.E., senior instructor of the Motor-cycle Section at A'ldershot, has to say:—"Nearly every dispatch, rider that has gone to the front bas passed through my hands, and I am therefore in a position to judge how the different makes of machine are in favour. The B.S.A. is by far away the favourite, and it bas yet to happen that a U.S.A. has failed to act up to iU well-earneu repute. . . .. I may state :that SO per cent, of' the machines .here are B.S.A.'s." A .motor-cyclist withi the Second Cavalry Division, British Expedition, ary Force, writes in a private letter: "The roads are hollish. . . . My B.S.A. is tho goods. I never have to touch it. They are tho bikes, my boy. They knock the -— and any other lhalce you like to mention into a cocked hat." There are plenty of other letters from the front, all to the. same effect. We are laiding 20 of the latest/model B.S.A.'s ex s.s. Marlborough this week, and can give immediate delivery. They are ideal machines ; for either solo or side-car service, and their reliability is fatuous. The h.p. is 4J, and the three-speed countershaft gear is foolproof and wonderfully efficient.
