Bay of Plenty, Hawko's Bay, ..and. Manawatu, and all stock, sold well in advance of the recent prices ruling. Pat cattle showed some improvement, and fat lambs sold at about last week's ratee. There was keen demand •for store sheep, especially for hoggets and ewes. .. Fat sheep were firmer. , . At Burnside to-day there was a full yarding of fat cattle, 206 being, penned. The entry consisted 1 mostly of medium-quality bullocks, cows, and heifers, with' an ■ odd pen .of good heavy-weight' cattle. For prime beef, competition . was keen/ and prices were firm at: an advance of lCs; to 15s. per head on last week's rate. Medium quality cattle, were not in such keen demand, and sold at late rates. Prime bullocks, £15 10s. to £17; extra prime, to £19 2®. 6d.; medium. £13 to : £14 ; others, £11 to £12 10s.; . prime heifers and cows; £10 10s. to £12; -extra prime, to £14 2s. 6d.; medium, £8 10s. : to £9 10s.; others, to £7. Fat sheep: 4172 were penned, and the yarding consisted mainly of medium wethers "and ewes, , with a few pens of really,, prime .wethers. - .Breezing buyers. were operating,'but had only limited space.
