■At the monthly meeting of fclie Lower Hutt Court lield yesterday, before Messrs. Chapman, Oudby, ard Wilkin, J.P.'s, H. A.- Quartorman pleaded guilty to-a cliaTg'o of Laving exceeded the motor speed limit iii driving his bar at the'rate of 26.47 miles! per hour, .and was fined 10s., with' costs 325. The alternative was fixed at 24 'Ji.tmrs' imprisonment. The following were .dealt with as underj for allowing stock to wander. J. Bradley was fined 205., with costs-75., in default three days' imprisonment; .It. Hobbs (two charges), fined 10s., witli' 7s. costs, in each case, in default 24 hours. G< Martiu, fined 55., with costs 75., in default 24 liours; Daniel Nyliane,'fined 10s., wieh 7s. costs, in default 48 hours' imprisonment. . • ( CIVIL OASES. ' Judgment was given for plaintiff by default as followsClendon Bros. v. James Mabey, £3 12s. 6d:, costs ss. J. E. Ellis claimed from J. 0. O'Keefe the sum of £6 4s. for rent of a paddock. After hearing lengthy evidence the justices entered judgment for plaintiff for the amount claimed, with costs £2 3s. Mr. J. M. Dale appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. A. W. Blair for defendant.
