The captain made a daring and skilful attempt to evade the enemy. Soveral shells struck' the vessel and killed' tho captain and ten of 'the crew, ' while eight were wounded. A wireless "5.0.5." message brought help, and the submarine disappeared, after shelling the Anglo-Califorman for four hours, all tho time manoeuvring for a torpedoing position. Captain Parslow, with great skill, outwitted her. The crew endeavoured to launcli the boats, and men were blown from the davits. The submarine's crew kept up a continuous rifle fire. ' v. Four boats were, launched before assistance arrived. Meanwhile a shell hurled the captain from the biidge with an arm and a leg .severed. FRENCH LINER SUNK. SIX OF'THE CREW MISSING., , Paris, July 5.
