FOREIGN SAILORS' SOCIETY
_ At a meeting held last week', a- Wellington branch of the British and Foreign Society was formed. The meeting, which took tho form of a social gathering, was attended by the superintendent and president of the Lyttelton branch of the society. Two very encouraging reports were read, dealing.with the work going on in Wellington, one covering the two yeiirs ending January 31, 1915, and the other from that date up to'the present.The following are the names of the first board of management appointed:— President, Mr. H. Philpott; secretary, Mr. D. M'Callum; treasurer, Mr. C. W. Smith; members, Captain Blackburne, Messrs. H. Edwards, L. J. Brabin, Mrs. Philpott, and Miss B. Simpson.
