Sir—Ever since the beginning of the war,, when, people began to sew and knit' for our troops, , thoro have been reports circulated that the men. wasted the things that were mado for them. One roport in particular was to the effect that the men in Egypt'were using* their Balaclavas to groom' their horses •with. When ..writing, to'one of the men of' the Main Expeditionary Force, I asked if it were so, and I thought your readers might like to know his answer, as it shows how'very .much' the ''comforts" % are.appreciated"The rumour abbut the Balaclavas being /used as horse-cloths is utter 'rot. Tho boys know too well .the value of having' one, audi if a fellow loses one he does his. Upmost to replace it. Don't take .any; notice;of these rumours. If you only knew the number of 'real positive fact's' we hear in one day that lead to no-' thine 1"—I am, etc.. !•' ' D- k.
