Miss H. E. Randell and Ber party of performers met with a splendid recep-: tion at last night's concert at the Sailors' Friend Society. Thq eongs, recitals,: and instrumental: pieces were most popular; Mr.' Moore, ■ lnissione'r, spoke on the temperance question and pledges followed. Books were supplied to outward-bound, crews. Requests are daily, reaching tho missioner for: pieces of old. carpet used as rags to spare the hands of firemen becoming raw when firing.' Mr. Moore woulcT be glad to send for old carpet foe: this purpose. The performers, who were cheered vigorously, were the Misses Randell, Healey, L. Morris, Bryant, Payne, and Price,' and , Messrs. Wallace, Morris, ' Farlow (Kai Ora), Courtney, and Master Morris. Miss Healey. waß' at the piano. ■■- , ~
