SEA KING FESTIVAL

Tho Sea King Festival,' held at the Missions to Seamen Institute last night, waa a great success, and delighted a orowded audience. Tho stage had been transformed for the occasion into a beautiful court, and shortly after eight o'clock the procession its way on to . the platform, heralded by boy •buglers . off; tho'Amokiira, Tho-King (Mr. . John .Williams, G.T.S., Amokura) quite looked the part in 'his royal robes, and' proceeded" to , the court, under a. canopy ■ held-aloft by a quartet of'liissturdys shipmates., The train.of his robe was borne by two .tiny'boys, -Masters , Oram and Jobannson. .The remainder of.the procession: was aa;follows:—Mr., Jas. Moors (Missiouer), chamberlain;... Master Veale, herald; Master Hands, Union Jack; : Captain Hooper, R.N.K., orb bearer ; Mr; Dunn, trident bearer; ■ Mr. Colpus, sword bearer: and Mr. Oram, .'crown' bearer. Four littler maidens, Misses' T. Colpusj A. Dodds, and M. Millor preceded the king, casting 'flowers at his'.feet.'. The crowning' ceromony. was carried: out" by Mr. Moore. ■'Presentations followed, the' most notable being that- of- Mrs.' Williams. the founder: the -building.His Majesty; bade Mr 3. Williams 'rise, "Tho Friend." - -Mrs.'Williams was ' then' invested: with . the order,' a gold i decoration, and amidst great enthusiasm a • parchment document was read, empowering her to add T.S.F. after her name. Tho degrco of "Tho Ready Helper" was conferred on Madamo Mueller for her great assistance in .providing concerts for tho king's sea subjects. To mark tho king's year of office, he was presented with a gold medal and ribbon (provided by, tho workers' of the mission). A command concert was then given, tho following taking part:—Mr. Langley, piano solo; Miss Cunningham, song; Master Shorwood, mouth-organ solo; Miss Snow, recitation; Miss Mueller, sojig; Miss Aiclten, song. During, tho evening various' articles were put up. to patriotic auction and realised satisfactory sums.
