Tho Miramax unit of tho National Reservo paraded fifty strong at the Miramar Town Hail .on Wednesday evening under Major P. Townsend, assisted by Lieutenants Rowntrce and I'ome. After half an hour's drill tlio now miniature rifle range was opened by Lieutenant Ilowntreo firing tho first shot. It was announced that, thanks to a donation of £10 by Major Townsend, the range was opened free of debt. A match between teams under Lieutenants Rowntroe and Forne resulted in a win for the latter's team by 500 t0'496. The highest scores were:—Rowland, 44; Coombes, 44; Wilson, 44; Eos, 40; and Hull, 40. A medal has been presented by the riflo club secretary for th© man making tho first possible on the range. Sergeant Hull is to command the. team entered for the drill competition on July 14.
