ASSOCIATION > TROUBLE WITH 'AUCKLAND Y.M.C.A. A .special meeting of tho New Zealand I'ootball Association was held last ovening, to consider tho action of tho Auckland Y.M.C.A. in endeavouring to form sub-association within the Auckland Football Association's area. After tho annual meeting of the northern body a letter had been forwarded to it by the New Zealand Association, stating that support would be given to the Auckland, body in refusing to countenance tho Y.M.C.A. League pending further inquiries. Last evening a letter was read from the Auckland Football Association, dated June 11. It stated that during tho past season there had been no case of misconduct calling for special comment. and reflections on the boys under tho northern body's control had been resented. There had been somo trouble, with the Auckland Y.M.C.A. during the previous season. The rental for the ground for a seven-a-side gamo on Juno 3, 1914, on the llayswater Ground, due by'tho Y.M.C.A., was 225. This game, it appears, had not been a financial success, and a rebate was asked for. Tho Y.M.C.A. offered 10s. Subsequently a motion to suspend the club (which possessed 88 players) was brought forward at a meeting of the Management Committee of the Auckland Association, and an amendment was carried on the eastine vote of the chairman, accepting tho 10s. offered. The season the Y.M.C.A. made application for the same ground, and they were informed that the rental would be 225. The next communication from the Y.M.C.A. informed the Auckland Association that the, Y.M.C.A. Club did not intend to enter any boys' teams, but it was tho intention to form a league of its own. lliG Auckland Y.M.C.A. liad stated that tlioy would havo 300 Boys in their association, but so far they only had sjpht teams s playing each Saturday, lliere had been ho friction with other junior teams. During the past season, continued the letter, the Y.M.C.A. had had to be dealt' with for playing two unregistered players. On June 8, 1915, the Auckland Association had dealt with the same club for a similar offence, and asked for 28s. due sinco April 23| within three days. Mr. T. M'Laren moved that the action of tho Auckland Association in refusing ■ affiliation to the Y.M.C.A. League-be upheld. Mr. H. M'Keowen seconded the motion.
A long discussion followed, during the course of which a circular letter, which had been sent out by the Auckland Y.M.C.A., was read. This letter stated that the Auckland Y.JLC.A. had invited parents to allow their boys to play ill their league, as they would be morally and physically bettor for playing football under its jurisdiction.' —After a warm discussion, the motion was carried. ,
All appeal against the decision of the ■Auckland Association in the matter was received from the Auckland Y.M.C.A. As the appeal had not been accompanied by the required fee, it was declared out of order.
