CHILDREN'S CONCERT
The Carnival Concert," in .which the : performers were, the best singers in each of'the City'and suburban schools, was repeated last evening, and was again greoted ; with 11 crowded house upstairs , and downstairs. -To . hear children's voices in such numbers, and- trained as they were under the leadership of 'Mrl Robert "Parker was an- occasion which will be remembered for some time. Long before tho concert began -the children wore; in their places in the'.'organ "seats and .overflowing into the gallery,- and to hear their voices as-they chattered a.way among themselves .was likeVnothing so much as a great crowd of minahs and. starlings discussing tho events -of the day before turning-in for the...night. As on tho previous night, their songs; included the noble -Russian,' National' Anthem, the "Marseillaise,''''which it is: impossible to hear at any time , without a thrill, "The Minstrel' Boy,". the "Blue . Bells of Scotland,"* an old Cavalier song "Here's a Health Unto His Majesty,'!': John .. Galsworthy's "Hymn to Belgium,!', "Hearts of Oalc," "Men of Harlech," "British v Grenadiers," "Eule Britannia," "Boils -of Osney," and the National Anthem, ,for all of which' they were*' enthusiastically, applauded. 'Miss Doris Dall .san" "Land of Hope and Glory," and an! old Scotch melody,, Ye to .Me." Mr. E.' J. Hill's contributions to'the pro- 1 gramme were "Tho Gunner" (Haydn Wood) and "Rule Britannia;" for. which the children sangthe. chorus'. - Mr. Norman Collio's organ solos, ; • "Military Overture -in C Major" (Mendelssohn) and "Finlandia" (Sibelius),,were' also greatly enjoyed' by the Audience. , The accompanists we're Mr. Norman' Collie, Mus. Bac., F.R.C.O. (orgaii)j Mrs.' ;E,' C. Cachemaille, and Miss Dorothy Mills (piano). The; executive in connection with these concerts ■ are -Miss.' Phoebe Myers,. Messrs'. W. -T. Grundy (chairman), A.
