David Shepherd Maxwell; storekeeper, 'of Taurakawa, ; : ivas to-day. charged on, 'four informations' with selling liquor without a license. A large, quantity was found on'his premises. The police gave evidence that sales had been going on ,for somo time. Defendant had sold w-hislcy at 10s. a bottle. He was fined £50 oil t\io first charge and .£1 on each of the otliers.. .
