The Government steamer, Hinemoa will leave Wellington to-day for The Brothers, Jackson Head, and Karori Rock lights. The vessel will proceed north next week. Salt and gypsum were brought from Edithburg to Wellington by the Rakanoa yesterday. The vossel, which had a good run across the Tasman Sea, 'will go on. to New Plymouth to-day. New Plymouth and West Coast cargo will be taken in at Wellington by the Flora on Wednesday next. Before proceeding on to southern ports this afternoon the Tarawera will land 380 tons of northern cargo at Wellington. Laden with - produce, the Kowhai as due at .Wellington to-morrow. After discharge she will proceed on to Greymouth. As the Union Company's Poherua will not arrive at' Wellington from the Bluff till late this afternoon, her departure for Picton and Onehnnga has been postponed till late this evening, or early to-morrow. Having been delayed at . Waitara the Kia. Ora will not arrive here till Sunday. She will be dispatched for London on Wednesday next. The Moerald, which is due in port from Lyttelton this morning, will sail for Syd-, ney and Hobart at 3 p.m. to-day. When R.M.S. Niagara arrived at Auckland from Vancouver on Monday it was learned that 6he had met with a repetition of the accident that happened to her m March last, namely, the loss of a blade from her centre propeller. The accident happed at noon on May 20, two days after the liner left Auckland for Suva;, on her last northward ran, and ever smce the Niagara has been running on two crews only. -In spite of this, she made an average of about 16 knots on the round trip. The loss of the blade caused severe vibTa. tion aboard the vessel for some seconds, until the engineers were able to stop tne low-pressure turbine • driving the centre shaft, but no damage resulted.
