Grossbreds sold better, and prices were harder. Dalgety and Company, Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London office, under daU; June 29:— The sales opened to a fair selection, and a large, attendance of buyers; competition was fairly animated. Compared with the closing rates of May sales greasy combing merinos were 5 to 7} per cent, dearer, and scoured .par to 5 per cent, dearer. Scoured faulty merinos were unchanged. Crossbred show an advance of 5 to 71 J]er oent. Messrs. Levin and Co., Ltd., have received the following advice- from their London agents, dated June 29:—"Wool sales have opened. Medium and coarse crossbred*. 5 per cent, dearer; fine crossbred, 71 par cent, dearer; good merino, 75 per cent, dearer; faulty merinos, unchanged." The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Co., Ltd., have received the following cablegram from their London house, under date June 29:—Theie is a good demand.
